James M. Milligan, age 69, passed away on May 27, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.  Mickey or Jim, he answered to both, was born in Moultrie, GA on July 21, 1946 to the late Seaborn Wilkes and Inez (Jenkins) Milligan.    From 1966 to 1973, he served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam in the nuclear submarine service.  Mick graduated from Western New England College with a degree in electrical engineering and worked for ISO New England for thirty years.  He was a skilled woodworker and built many of the furniture pieces in his home.  He enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida, reading, playing cards, gardening, and golfing whenever possible.  As his family will attest to, Mickey could fix anything except for his golf slice.  He was the kind of person who was happiest when he was helping others.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Kathryn (Mahoney) Milligan of Westfield, his loving son Sean M. Milligan and his wife Lindsay of Westfield, his sisters, Marsha (Ron) Smith of Valdosta, GA, Beth (Joe) Tinsley of Tifton, GA, a brother Gary (Donna) Milligan of Moultrie, GA, his sister-in-laws, Crystal Milligan of GA, Joanne (Allen) Maloney, Eileen (James) Jachym,  Susan (David) Castanera, all of Westfield, Anne (Thomas) Sims Bondur of San Jose, CA, brother-in-law, Daniel (Marsela) Mahoney of Westfield.  He was predeceased by his two brothers, Randy and Tommy Milligan, both of Moultrie, GA.  He will also be missed by close family friends, Ann and Arne Ekstrom of West Springfield and Ann Wise of Westfield, in addition to numerous beloved nieces and nephews.  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5PM at Firtion Adams, 76 Broad St., Westfield.  A Funeral Home Service will be held on Sunday at 5PM following calling hours. Burial will be private at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ name may be directed to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 125 S.
