Barbara A. (Zygarowski) Zygarowski

Barbara A. Zygarowski, 73, passed away at Palmer Healthcare Center on Friday, January 18, 2019. She was born in Westfield, MA to the late Walter and Bernice (Puza) Zygarowski. She was a graduate of Westfield High School in 1963, STCC in 1964 with a Surgical Technician Degree Certificate, Western Mass Hospital in 1967 with a LPN Degree and from STCC in 1985 with an Associate’s Degree as a registered nurse. Barbara was employed as a registered nurse for Noble Hospital for 9 years, in Intensive care, ER and floor units, for Baystate Medical Center from 1975-1987 and at Shriners Hospital from 1988 until she retired from the Operating room and recovery room. Barbara was a longtime communicant of Holy Trinity Church, a member of the Parish Council, Rosary Society and a Eucharistic Minister there. She was also a member of the Agawam Garden Club, Naturalist Club in Springfield, a board member of Winding River Land Conservancy and a 2000 recipient of the Nurse of the Millennium from the Mass Anastacia Nurses Society. Barbara was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Walter and Ronald Zygarowski. She was an extremely kind and caring person who loved to help others, she was selfless and will be missed by family and friends and companion Paul Grennon. Barbara’s funeral will be Friday, January 25, 2019 with a Mass at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield, MA. A visiting hour will precede the Mass from 8:30-9:30AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
