Frank S Sperry

Frank Sheldon Sperry of Westfield passed away peacefully on October 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1926 in Bristol, Connecticut to the late Frank S. Sperry, Sr. and Francis (Smith) Sperry. Frank served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946. Upon discharge he worked at Old Colony Envelope and was a firefighter for the Westfield Fire Department for 15 years. He was a member of Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam where he enjoyed singing in the Choir. He loved his church, pastors and the people who attended Bethany Assembly of God Church. He was married to Ruth Evelyn (Feltman) Sperry for 71 years. He is survived by his son William and his wife Sherrie Sperry and daughter Ruth and her husband James Siska of Westfield. He also leaves his 3 grandchildren, Michael and his wife Kristen, Mathew Siska and Nathan and his wife Jessica Sperry. He also leaves 6 great-grandchildren Logan, Landon and Ella Siska and Lydia, Josiah and Naomi Sperry. He was pre-deceased by his brother Wesley and sisters Ellen Strzalka and Marilyn Crochetiere. He also leaves his nieces and nephews. Frank loved life, family and friends. He had a wonderful way to make people feel welcome. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Genesis Health in Agawam, Baystate Hospital and for Baystate Home Hospice in Westfield for their loving support to the family. Frank’s funeral will be held on Tuesday October 23rd at 12 noon at Bethany Assembly of God Church, 580 Main Street, Agawam. Burial will follow in the Mass. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service at the church from 10-11:30 am.
