Jay W Yaple

Jay W.Yaple Sr. of Westfield passed away peacefully al home on Jan 1, 2020. Born in Middletown N.Y. to the late Willis add Pearl (Wilson) Yaple Jay was raised on a small farm in Middletown N.Y. with his brothers and sisters until he was sixteen yrs old. After moving to Westfield he enlisted in the United States Army, at eighteen yrs old he was sent overseas to Northen France where he was captured by the German Army and subsiquintley wounded. Jay recieved the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribben with one Service Starr the Purple Heart. Jay e joyed woodworking, tinkering with his many plants and garde sand water gardens, his love of animals espically his cat Cougar and he loved working with his hands. He worked for many years for the former Gladwin and Lane Oil Company in Westfield where he worked as a oil burner technition. He was predeceased by his son Clifford and two daughters Charlene, and Cindy he is survived by his former wife Grace Shay of Westfield, his loving children: Tammy(Yaple) and son-in-law Shane Clayton of Westfield and Jay Jr. and daughter-in-law Elka Yaple of Enfield Ct,he also leaves many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildrem. Jay will be missed by many people he was always there if you needed a hand or if there was a project to be done, he will be dearly missed by his children We love you always dad. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Middle Farms Cemetery in Westfield.
