Madeline T Hayes

Madeline T. Hayes, the youngest of the four daughters of Edmond J. and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Hayes passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018. She was born on March 4, 1931 in Springfield, grew up in Holy Name Parish and graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 48’. She received her BA from Our Lady of the Elms College and her Med from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. Madeline enjoyed over 46 years of teaching, spent the last 21 years teaching in the Agawam School System and retired from there in 1993. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Anna M. Ferris and her brother-in-law Donald G. Ferris. She leaves her sisters Mary M. Hayes, Sr. Catherine R. Hayes, SSJ, her dear friend E. Anne Reilley with whom she lived and several cousins and dear friends. As requested, there will be no visiting hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield.
