Patricia "Patti" E. (Hoarle) Bigelow

Patricia “Patti” (Hoarle) Bigelow, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2019 surrounded by her family and her dog firmly on her lap. The strongest person we’ve ever met, Patti was born on April 6, 1967, the daughter of William F. Hoarle of Westfield and the late Carol (McGorry) Hoarle who passed away. She was also predeceased by her younger sister, Tara Hoarle-Gutierrez of Springfield. Patti grew up in the Hungry Hill area of Springfield, attended Our Lady of Hope Elementary School and was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1985. She made All Western MA as part of the track team for shotput and javelin. Patti continued her education at Springfield College and graduated with a Master’s of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1997. Patti was recognized in Who’s Who in America while in High School and College. She worked for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission as a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor prior to her illness. Patti had a passion for the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, camping and gardening. She rode motorcycles and was always up for adventure. Patti also had a love for Ireland and her Irish Heritage. She was a member of the Sons of Erin. She cherished her trips to the Emerald Isle and had looked forward to sharing that with her husband. Patti lived in Montgomery, MA with her husband, Christian Bigelow. They have two adult children Alexis Boettcher and Dakota Bigelow that love her dearly as she loved them. Besides her husband, Patti will also be greatly missed by her Father and her sisters, Shannon Bilodeau and her husband Jonathan of Westfield and Eileen Hoarle-Reuter and her husband Douglas of Chicopee; her nieces and nephews, Chelsea & Victoria Godere, Gage Bush, Aidan Hoarle-Billings, Douglas Reuter III and Delia Hoarle-Reuter. Family and friends will gather for visiting hours for Patti on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 12-2PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 2PM in the Firtion-Adams Funeral Services, 76 Broad St, Westfield, MA.
