Wayne A. Wilson

Wayne A. Wilson, 76, passed away at home on Thursday, November 21, 2019. He was born in Springfield to the late Phyllis (Dargon) Wilson. At the age of 3 Wayne went to live with his Aunt Evelyn (Dargon) and Uncle Tony Belanger and their son Gary of Westfield where he grew up.  Wayne served the City of Westfield as a firefighter and retired after 20 years. After retiring from the fire department, Wayne had his own business of painting and wallpapering. Wayne loved the outdoors, enjoying boating, hunting, fishing, summers at Lake Waukewan New Hampshire and took pride working in his garden. He also loved going to the casinos, playing the lottery, playing cards with friends in Otis and doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sheila M. (Dineen) Wilson, his three loving children, Ellen M. Hirtle and her husband Chris of Russell, Jeffrey W. Wilson of West Springfield and Christopher J. Wilson of Satellite Beach, his two cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn and his faithful dog, Nikki. Wayne’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Baystate Hospice for the love, care and support given to their family.  All services for Wayne are private at the request of his family.
