Anita (Procito) Duffy

Anita Duffy, our beloved Mother, Nana, Sister, and much more, passed away peacefully at 86 on May 20, 2023. Anita was born August 2, 1936, in Cambridge, MA, to the late Joseph and Josephine Procito. Anita was married for 49 years to her high school sweetheart, Francis Duffy, who passed away in 2005. They left Cambridge in 1976, settling in Westfield, where they purchased their home and raised their children.

More than anything, we will never forget her generosity, courage, devotion to family, selfless dedication to her grandkids, and cheering at all their baseball and basketball games. Above all, her family was everything to her, and her love is forever etched in our hearts. Anita is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by: Daughter Lyn Dupont, grandson Luke, granddaughter Josie, and her great-granddaughter Gemma. Son Joseph Duffy, his wife Sarah, grandsons Ryan and Connor. Daughter Nancy Toomey, her husband Jim, grandson Tyler French, and grandson Bailey French, his wife Becky, and great-granddaughter Paisley, as well as step-granddaughters Sarah Espinosa and Samantha Toomey, and special friend Betty Duchesneau. Brother Joseph Procito Jr. Anita is predeceased by her brother Thomas Procito and son-in-law Wayne Dupont. There will be a graveside service for Anita, with burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA, on Thursday, May 25, at 1 pm.
