Barbara Christenson Obituary

Barbara Ann (Reeves) Christenson, 78, of Park River Circle, Westfield, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Bruce S. Christenson. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 20, 1943, Barbara was the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Catherine (Anderson) Reeves. She was a legal assistant at Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas, LLP, retiring in 2006. Besides her husband, she leaves her son Brian McDonald of Pittsburgh, PA, three stepchildren, and her three nieces – whom she called “my girls” – Barbara J. Nauman of North Kingstown, RI, Coleen S. Nauman of Southampton, and Kate L. O’Donnell of Chicopee. She also leaves behind a grand-niece, Erin P. O’Donnell of Chicopee, and eight grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by her twin sister Patricia A. Nauman, sister Norma Jean Culp and brother Ellsworth Christian Bante. An avid reader, Barbara enjoyed quiet afternoons by her Koi ponds and watching the birds visit her yard. A private funeral service for the family will be held at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St., Westfield, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery, Armory St., Chicopee. Because of Barbara’s love of animals, especially dogs, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, Westfield, MA 01085. Firtionadams.com
