Barbara D. (Yapps) Keeney

Barbara D. (Yapps) Keeney, 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. She was born in South River, New Jersey to the late Charles and Sophie (Bosko) Yapps and was a graduate of South River High School. She attended Upsala College and Cambridge School of Business. Barbara was employed as a customer service representative for Aetna Life Insurance and retired in 1993. She enjoyed lighthouses, the beach, traveling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert R. Keeney of Westfield, her loving sons, David C. Keeney of Westfield and Michael R. Keeney and his wife Amy of Southwick, her sister, Lorraine Yapps-Cohen of Lajolla, CA, her four cherished grandchildren, Gari Keeney, Brooke Keeney, Tyler Keeney and Jack Keeney and a great granddaughter, Kiera Keeney. Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
