Beverly A (Couture) Symancyk

Our beautiful, graceful, quick-witted, amazing mother, Beverly A. (Couture) Symancyk, 72, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield, MA on October 5, 1946 to the late Melville and Reta (Supernant) Couture and was raised in Agawam, MA. Bev graduated from Agawam High School in 1964 and went on to Cosmetology school. She began a career as a hairdresser at Frank & Tito in Agawam where she was well liked by many for her genuine demeanor. After leaving hair dressing to raise her family, she continued a career in customer service. She resided in Westfield, where she built two homes and took great pride in them, as evidenced by anyone who knew her and saw them. She was always working in her yard, she kept everything immaculate and beautiful. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, where she loved our annual “Christmas Tree Day” breakfast and hunt. She would beam watching her children and grandchildren open gifts. Beverly was the nucleus of our family; her family was everything to her. She was more than just our mother. For many years, she was both our mother and father. She was always the protector, confidant, problem solver, and truth teller. Beverly was a fiercely devoted mother to her three daughters, Erin Pedolzky and Bridget Chandler of Westfield, MA and Shelby Ceccarini of Easthampton, MA. Aside from her girls, she is survived by her loving husband, Donald and her grandchildren, Connor Sas, Carly Pioggia, and Chandler and Emma Pedolzky, all of Westfield, whom she adored. Her son in law, Michael Chandler. Her brother, Alan Couture of Southwick, MA as well as many other family members. She will be greatly missed by numerous Stop & Shop coworkers and customers alike. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Couture and her long-time friend, confidant and surrogate mother, Dorothy Guglietta and her husband Valentine. She will be forever missed by her dogs, Jax and Bella. A beautiful light has left our lives and we are forever changed for it. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff in the MICU at Baystate Medical Center, but especially to Dr. Melissa Mercado for the compassionate care she showed us and our mother. The calling hours for Beverly will be held on Saturday, January 19th from 1-4 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will be private.
