Carol Ann (Eddings) Cella

Carol Ann (Eddings) Cella, Aka (Grandma Gie) 78, Born 5/8/1942 in Woronoco, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 after a long courageous battle with cancer .She was at home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Leonard A. and Lillian (Craig) Eddings and was a 1960 graduate of Westfield High School.  She was predeceased by her brother Craig Eddings in 2009 and special cousin Carl Tucker of S.C. She leaves a daughter Susan Garstka of West Springfield, a son Paul LeBlanc Slatington Pennsylvania and former son in law of Westfield Michael Garstka and her three cherished Grandsons, Mitchell, Alexander and Riley Garstka who were the greatest joy in her life. She also leaves many dear friends who were all very supportive during her illness, including special Aunt Natalie. Her greatest joy of life was spending time with her grandsons and loved attending all their basketball games. She also enjoyed golfing and spending time with her many friends and always trying to help others. Carol worked as a engineering secretary for Strathmore paper company for over 20 yrs. B. J. Cassin Insurance and The Governors Center Nursing Home as the staff coordinator for 13 yrs. She also was a volunteer for Hospice for 4yrs, and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also a volunteer for Noble VNA. Carol was predeceased by her husband Donald Cella. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital for children.  A Memorial Service for Carol will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 5PM in the First United Methodist Church, Broad St. Westfield.
