Charles J. Tighe, Jr.

Charles J. Tighe, Jr., 77, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Boston, MA to the late Alice L. (Weafer) and Charles J. Tighe, Sr. and was a 1961 graduate of Cathedral High School. Charles was employed by the City of Springfield as traffic engineer for over 31 years, retiring in 1997. He also worked part time for the Eastern States Exposition. He was a member of the Melha Shriners and enjoyed vacationing at Cape Cod in his youth and more recently on family vacations. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Ellen (Lacey) Tighe, his son Charles J. Tighe, III with Emily Hartmann of Chicopee and his four daughters, Christine A. Tighe, Kathleen M. Hartley and her husband Brian, Kelly E. Yarasavych and her husband James and Colleen M. Patenaude and her husband Robert, all of Westfield, his cherished grandchildren Jocelyn and Alexis and his two sisters, Virginia LaMarche of Hampden and Kathleen Downie of Easthampton. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. Westfield followed by burial in Middle Farms Cemetery, Russellville Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will precede the Mass on Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
