James R Fennell

James R. Fennell of Becket passed away at Baystate Medical Center on February 22, 2020. He was born in Westfield, MA on April 12, 1943 to Robert and Ruth Fennell of Huntington. He graduated from Huntington High School and Westfield State College with a Master’s Degree in Education. He taught at Powder Mill School in Southwick for 28 years before owning the Lake View General Store in Becket for 17 years. He was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Ruth (McLintock) Fennell, a daughter Janine Savoy (Steven), a son Brent (Catherine), a sister Sandra Beals (Norman), a granddaughter, Grace Fennell and a grandson Steven Savoy. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, Feb 29, from 9-10:30AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by a funeral home service at 10:30AM in the funeral home. Burial will be held in the spring in Norwich Bridge Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Family Parish Boiler Fund, P.O. Box 405, Russell, MA 01071.
