James A. Rogers, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born in Westfield to the late Anthony and Margaret (Walkowski) Rodgers. James was a graduate of Westfield High School then continued to Western New England University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He worked most of his life in the banking profession, starting during high school as a teller. James was involved with many Westfield committees and organizations. He was a member of the Westfield Rotary achieving a Paul Harris Fellowship Award, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Lithuania, a devoted communicant of St. Peter and St. Casimir Parish and a member of the choir and finance committee. He enjoyed spending time on the beaches of Cape Cod and Maine. Some of his best times were spent with his family at his lake house on Otis Reservoir. Additionally, he enjoyed feeding birds and making delicious soups and breads. James is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marcia M. (Dardinski) Rogers, his loving children, Gail A. Rogers and her husband Joseph J. Marinaccio of Cheshire, CT and their children, Joseph G. Marinaccio and his wife Talia and James M. Marinaccio, and Kenneth A. Rogers and his wife Barbara of Westfield and their children Jared A. Rogers and Mackenzie H. Rogers along with nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Anthony Rogers. James’ funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 with visiting hours from 9-10:30AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by a Mass at 11AM in St. Peters and St. Casimir Parish, 22 State St. Westfield. The burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Peter and St. Casimir Parish. www.firtionadams.com
