Lavae E. (Wells) Wolfe, passed away at home on Thursday, April 4, 2019. She was born in Los Angeles, CA to Harry and Olive Wells on December 11, 1931. At age 2, the family moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Lavae grew up as a farm girl along with her sister Carolyn. Lavae met Jack Wolfe in 7th grade and they were married on November 3, 1950. They lived in several parts of the country before settling down in Wilbraham to raise their two daughters. Lavae was involved in Girls Scouts as a leader, was a great bowler and very active in her church, Christ Church Cathedral. Her thriftiness was one of her greatest assets, making most of her daughter’s clothes as they grew. She couldn’t pass by a fabric store without stopping. Sewing, quilting, knitting and needle point were some of her talents. She had a green thumb and actually enjoyed weeding. Growing up in Iowa during the depression, Lavae was known to have a well-stocked pantry and kept almost everything she ever owned. She had a strong faith and believed in helping thy neighbor, volunteering as a meals-on-wheels driver. Lavae was one of the most honest people you ever met. Lavae will be greatly missed by her husband of 68 years, Jack Wolfe, daughters Leslie Costello and Paula (Joe) Dubord, grandchildren Patrick and Courtney Costello, Mathew (Megan) Dubord and Megan (Chad) Ruscio, and two great grandchildren, Jack and Ada Dubord. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 11AM at Christ Church Cathedral, Chestnut St. Springfield. www.firtionadams.com
