William LeClair Obituary

William Normand LeClair On the evening of Thursday, November 9th, 2023, William (Bill) LeClair passed away, comforted in the arms of his life partner, Anna Seaha.

Bill LeClair was born December 14th, 1958, to Normand William and Patricia Ann (Carabine) LeClair of Chicopee, Massachusetts. He grew up in a bustling household with three sisters and a brother.

Bill was an adventurer and explorer, from his childhood summers in Canada, fishing on the Cape, and climbing Mt. Washington to exploring the world for work. He never said no to an opportunity to do something new or exciting; his two favorite things were the ocean and his family. From summer days on the Cape, trips to Spain and Jamaica, traveling along the West Coast, and his new home in North Carolina, Bill always found time to sit, relax, and enjoy looking at the waves. Bill put a smile on the face of everyone he met and filled every room with his fun and loving personality.

Bill had a dedicated career at National Amusements’ Showcase Cinemas. In 1977, Bill joined the company as an usher. He spent over 40 years with Showcase, eventually rising to Senior Vice President of Global Food and Beverage. Here, he met his late wife, Linda (Hitchcock) LeClair, lifelong friends, and accumulated millions of airline miles flying to locations around the world. Bill was excited about making plans with his partner Anna to retire within the next year and settle into a new routine in North Carolina.

Bill's proudest accomplishment was raising his three children with his late wife, Linda. Amy, Dan, and Matt will deeply miss their beloved father. Bill’s kids inherited his sarcasm and wit, regularly telling their partners (in their dad's voice), "If I didn't give you a hard time, you'd think I didn't love you".

Bill is survived by his partner, Anna Seaha; his mother, Patricia LeClair; his siblings, Debra Schneeweis, Ann Hawk , Susan Champagne, and Donald LeClair, and their families; His three children, Amy McLain, Dan LeClair, and Matt LeClair and their partners, Josh McLain, Lauren LeClair, and Kelly Vormelker; his three grandchildren, Benjamin McLain, James McLain, and Lydia LeClair; his best friend and boating buddy, Primo Cosenzi; his dog, Angel; and countless friends he made all over the world. Bill is predeceased by his father, Normand LeClair; his wife, Linda (Hitchcock) LeClair; his brother-in-law, Richard Schneeweis; and his nephew, Shawn Tiago.
