Dr. Michael S. Anciello, 76, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, surrounded by his family and friend, at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Cambridge, MA to the late Nicholas and Josephine (Boussi) Anciello and was a graduate of Boston College and received his doctorate from St. Louis University. He was employed as a Professor for 48 years teaching history at Boston State College and retiring from Westfield State University. Dr. Anciello loved reading and writing, he was an expert in Eastern European History. Education was very important to him he spent two brief years and administrator at Westfield State before requesting his return to teaching, his true passion. He was always willing to help people however he could, he enjoyed chatting with students past and present but mostly loved his casino trips with his son Christopher, watching his grandsons play sports and watching the Boston Red Sox. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucille A. (McLellan) Anciello in 1999 and is survived by his loving sons, Michael J. Anciello and his wife Kerry Anciello of Westfield and Christopher N. Anciello of Becket, his sister Mary Ann Anciello of Belmont, MA and his cherished grandsons, Nicholas and Michael Anciello. All services will be private at his family’s convenience.
